FAQs
What is therapy?
A common misconception is that you need to be in crisis or deeply distressed to access therapy. In reality, some of the most meaningful work can happen during stabler periods of life - those periods when there’s space to reflect, understand patterns, and make changes before things build up or become overwhelming.
You might consider therapy if:
Your mental health is affecting your day-to-day life, relationships, or sense of ease
You want a space to talk openly without fear of judgment or needing to “hold it together” for someone
You find it hard to share thoughts or feelings with loved ones
You’d like to develop new ways of coping, relating, or caring for your mental health
You’re navigating change, uncertainty, or a sense that something isn’t quite right
You don’t need to have everything figured out - coming to therapy can simply be about creating space to explore what’s going on and what support might help.
How much is a session and do you provide Medicare or Insurance Rebates?
Session Fees
My standard session rate is $185 (50min Session)
Medicare
You may be able to access a Medicare rebate of $89.50 per session with a GP referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan
Private Health Insurance
You may be able to access rebates through your private health insurance or Overseas Student Health Insurance, though you may need to enquire with your provider directly. Receipts will be provided after each session, which you can share with your provider
How can I find the right therapist?
Finding the right therapist is about more than just credentials. It is important to find someone with whom you can feel comfortable enough to speak openly which will help build a sense of safety and trust over time - essential for therapeutic work.
A good indicator of whether a therapist might be the right fit for you is to read about their approaches and see whether these interest you. It's okay to ask questions or to take time to decide - you might like to book a brief brief connection call, where we can talk about your therapeutic goals and to see whether we might be a good fit. You are also welcome to get in touch with me via email if that is easier for you. Click the button below to get in touch with me and we can go from there.
